I just spent the last few days at the Audubon Center of the Northwoods near
Sandstone.

On Monday, I saw a female Black-backed Woodpecker (originally located by ACNW
staff) along the creek near the yurt.

All week I found Red Crossbills in the pine stands. I had up to 11 of them in
the stand near the parking lot and 15 of them near the deer exclosure. There
were frequent flyovers as well.

The Audubon feeders were hopping with the expected species including a few
Common Redpolls. Shawn Conradhttp://users.2z.net/itasca_chippewa_birding/
