I stopped at the Hills sewage lagoons today, 4/6 and was delighted to find the
pond back from Cty Rd 6 mostly a mud bath.? There were several shorebird
species:? Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs, Baird's Sandpipers, Pectoral
Sandpipers, Least Sandpipers, and Killdeer.? They all provided side by side
comparisons.? The Baird's clearly showed the primary extensions beyond the
tail.? The Least Sandpipers showed their yellow legs and small size.? There
were also many ducks and 4 Snow Geese present.

A Ross's Goose was associating with 10 Snow Geese at the gravel pit ponds just
south of Blue Mounds State Park.
