Nine species of shorebirds were present at the corner of CR 30 and Yancy just
west of New Germany in Carver today. These are the only decent mud flats left
in the area found. Birds include: Killdeer,Greater and Lesser Yellow Legs,
Solitary, Semipalimted Sandpiper, Least Sandpiper, Baird's, Pectoral, and
Stilt. Approximately 200 total species. Also, there are nesting Red-Headed
