I walked out into my front yard last night around 9:00 pm to see if the 2 barred owls were still around ( I have been in Florida for the last week battling Tropical Storm Fay I have never seen so much rain fall.) and to my surprise I heard a short-eared owl just to the north of my yard.? I checked again every hour until 1:00am. I will keep checking nightly to see if it sticks around.? Good Birding to all! Nowthen (Anoka County),
