Bonnie Sample Named Minnesota Breeding Bird Atlas Coordinator
The Minnesota Breeding Bird Atlas project is off and running with the hiring of Bonnie Sample as project coordinator. Bonnie is well known in the Minnesota birding community through her various bird related activities. She is on the board and Past President of the St. Paul Audubon Society, is a bird bander at Carpenter Nature Center, active with the Red-headed Woodpecker Recovery Project and an MOU member. She recently received a Master's degree from the University of Minnesota studying grassland bird use of restored urban prairies. Bonnie will be recruiting volunteers for the Breeding Bird Atlas program in the months to come in anticipation of the project's inaugural year of the survey. The Minnesota Breeding Bird Atlas is a collaborative project of Bird Conservation Minnesota, a consortium of 157 Non-Governmental Organizations, Businesses, Citizens, Academic Institutions, Nature Centers and Governmental Agencies.
