We also have pine siskins at our feeders in Edina this winter for the first time since we moved into our home in 1994. Our preveous home in Minneapolis (Nokomis area) was pretty reliable for siskins and redpolls most winters.
Joel and Lisa Swanstrom -------------- Original message from sue <[email protected]>: -------------- I have had a flock of maybe twelve Pine Siskins frequenting my thistle feeders and bird bath since early December. At first I took them to be goldfinches or house finches as they move around so quickly. On the 9th I sat and watched them with field guide and binocs in hand, having moved a feeder to within two feet of the dining room window. It was then that I could finally determine what they are - and today they are very active in the sunshine, along with hairy, downy and red-bellied woodpeckers and of course house and goldfinches, juncos and > chickadees.Cardinals heard but not seen. A lovely Christmas morning! > Sue on Melody Lake, Edina, Hennepin County > _______________________________________________ > mnbird mailing list > [email protected] > http://lists.mnbird.net/mailman/listinfo/mnbird ---- Join or Leave mou-net:http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=mou-net Archives:http://lists.umn.edu/archives/mou-net.html
