Each year, the MOU considers funding requests for bird-related
projects. In 2008, awards included partial funding for Project Bird Safe,
for the Peregrine Watch program conducted by Hawk Ridge Observatory, for
purchase of binoculars used in K-12 programs at Carpenter Nature Center,
and for duck mounts used in educational programs at Long Lake Conservation
Center. Grant amounts ranged from $200 to $1800.
Individuals or organizations who are undertaking projects in
Minnesota which increase our understanding of birds, promote preservation
of birds and their natural habitats, or increase public interest in birds,
may submit grant applications to the MOU. Application information may be
obtained by emailing: [email protected]
The deadline for receipt of grant applications is February 1,
2009. Funding recipients will be notified during April 2009.
