This morning Allen Loken and I birded Canal Park, where we had one very
beautiful adult GLAUCOUS GULL and a few Herring Gulls. Overall it was a
quiet morning (gull-wise), but other additions to this morning's sightings
included a PEREGRINE FALCON that we first saw feeding on the ice out on the
lake. It was breaking off parts of some carcass out on the ice. Allen and I
took a coffee break about 1/2 way through our morning of birding, and as we
pulled into the parkinglot just down the road in Canal Park, we saw the
Peregrine Falcon land on one of the old water towers overlooking Hwy 35.
Pretty cool! Duck-wise, we saw lots of Common Goldeneyes swimming around
this morning, as well as roughly a dozen Common Mergansers and a few
Mallards.

Good birding!
