I ncountered the same sort of flock this morning-couldn't tell what they were. The Horned Larks I'm still seeing are one or two at atime. Sunday, we did see a flock of 50+ small birds that after seeing them on the ground turned out to be Common Red Polls. I have initially misidentified flocks like that along roadsides for the past month. I still have 30 or so RP here. They must leave, Nyjer has just gone thru the roof and may become difficult to find at all over the next month.
