This morning, my wife and I counted over 80 bald eagles at Red Rock Lake, in 
the southeast corner of Ramsey Co.  We first saw some of them as we drove 
by on Hwy 61, so we exited on Maxwell (half mile north of 494) and followed 
Maxwell past the Gerdau Ameristeel auto recycling plant to get a better view.  
The eagles were mostly sitting on the ice in groups of 10 to 20.  A few were 
pecking at the dead carp, some were sitting in the trees and some were 
soaring overhead.  Just to the north, Pig's Eye Lake has more eagles, 
mergansers and hundreds of gulls
