This evening around 5 p.m. I found a Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher in Carver Park
flitting around in the trees on the bank at the beginning of the Tamarack Trail
boardwalk. I know this is a very early date for them, but I observed the bird
through my binoculars for a good 30 seconds to a minute and there was no doubt
about its identity. Also of note was a Palm Warbler in the butterfly garden
near the nature center. The entire park is thick with Yellow-Rumps.
