Checked in on my newly discovered Bald Eagle nest in southern Jackson yesterday
and discovered a parent standing in the nest with a fuzzy-headed youngster. On
the way out from checking on them I was greeted by a pair of Palm Warblers and
several Harris Sparrows, which is now in contention for my "favorite sparrow"
designation.

Finally got White-crowned Sparrows to show up at my feeder and complete the
suite of expected sparrows to visit the yard.

Lots of new birds in Kilen Woods today, but the neotropical migrants are slow
overall in coming based on what others have posted elsewhere in the state. Did
see Black-and-White, Yellow, Tennessee, and Yellow-rumped Warblers. In
addition, I heard my first of the year Catbird and Ovenbird. Hopefully things
will pick up soon.
