Greetings:

Kirsten and I birded at River Bend Nature Center yesterday afternoon.  On he
waqy in, on the road by the upper pond, we saw, counted, 40 Yellow-Rumped
Warbers.  SLl had the usual lue and yellow in places.

On our way out, at the same area we, saw at least 12 warblers. This time we saw
three bird that had very blue backs, from head to tail, and lots of black on
throat and below.  I thought at first they were Black-throated Blue Warblers,
but they  had yellow rumps, and no white spot on their sides.

Are these male birds?  Is this just an observation that I have never noticed
before?
