We've been seeing very large numbers of great blue herons in both Lake
Vadnais and today in Lake Gervais. They are in flocks of 30 or more
birds -- probably close to 50 on Lake Gervais today. I have to think this
is due to the extreme drought situation which has dried up many of the
smaller ponds. This can't be good for the heron population. Has anyone
else noticed this trend?
