Stopped at Grass Lake this evening. There was a small number ofshorebirds present on the north end. From the trail by the parking lot go approx 200 paces to the west and follow the small trail on your left down the hill to the marsh. Upon reaching the marsh, go to your left to get a better vantage point.

Present was a surprising Buff-breasted Sandpiper, both yellowlegs, Pectoral Sandpiper, Stilt Sandpiper and some peeps that were to far away to id. You will need a good scope as the short grass they were in was a good 70 yards away. Morning will not be good because of the sun while afternoon and evening will be best.

Missed on the Little Blue Heron about 6:15 and again later about 7:45. Suspect that by that time it was roosting in a tree somewhere because of the traffic on the lake.

Sorry, Turtle Lake is across Hodgson Rd. (Hwy. 49) from Chippewa Middle School, not Hodgon Rd. Also, if you head up in this direction, Grass Lake is again attracting a few shorebirds, so it might be worth a stop.

Thanks again,
