Was standing outside my front door yesterday, talking to a friend on the phone,
when a Sharp-shinned Hawk zipped around the corner of the house and snagged one
of a dozen or so European House Sparrows that hog the tube feeder. Good
riddance!

This is at least my fourth such observation of an accipiter capturing a small
bird. Would love to see it more often, especially when it involves a House
Sparrow on the losing end.
