This afternoon, I was surprised to see a hermit thrush not far from my home on the Mississippi bluff overlooking Pig's Eye Lake. It was in a bush between a neighbor's yard and the woods. I got a good look at the characteristic features, including eye ring, reddish tail (which it raised and lowered) and breast spots. We've had a number of robins around eating berries, so I presume that's also what's keeping the thrush, but I didn't see it feed.
