A Hermit Thrush was found this afternoon by 6 participants of the Afton CBC.
It was foraging with American Robins in the vicinity of a small open-flowing
stream at the base of a steep southward facing slope. Its location is
generally described as at the most north-east corner of the Afton Alps Ski
Area parking lots. The small stream runs parallel to the north side of the
parking lots. The birds were just NW of the intersection of this stream with
the cross-country ski trails of the state park. We accessed the area from
the state park being very careful to not step in the groomed trails, and I
do not know the status of access via the ski resort.
