My last day with Ted from Virginia.

Highlights: Aitkin County

Evening Grosbeaks near Kim & Cindy Risen's residence in Tamarack, MN

* A Fisher ran across Hwy 210 at dawn near Tamarack.

Hawk Owl on CR 18 ( previously reported )

St. Louis County - Sax-Zim Bog

Sharp-tailed Grouse flying along CR 7 in front of Eveleth Mining Plant.

Hawk Owl on CR 7 about a 1/2 mile north of CR 28 on the north end of the power
line.

Lake County - Stoney River Logging Road

GREAT GRAY OWL ( finally !! ) at 4:20pm 7.6 miles north of the Whyte Rd
hunting on both sides of the road. A very skittish owl. I and Ted watched the
owl from inside the Yukon about 50 yards away and a once or twice I tried to
creep towards it within 50 yards and the owl would fly up the road. So we let
the owl be and let it hunt in peace. We turned around and headed home very
happy to finally seeing this owl.

Other birds:

Snow Buntings
Common Redpolls
Pine Grosbeaks
Gray Jays
