My MN BBA block takes in nearly all of Battle Creek Pk in St Paul from Hwy
61 east to McKnight Rd and beyond. specifically T28 R22a. (also some
land/water west of hwy 61) I might get there this wkend, but not making
progress in the outing dept so far. (see footnote) Has anyone heard or seen
evidence of breeding in great horned owls in the park this late winter?
fledging is already happening. As you know these BBA blocks are 3 x 3 miles
so the chance of one individual intersecting a breeding GHOW on one or two
hikes is small. If you have seen anything there, could you send me an
individual msg and I can follow up with exact location and the particular
evidence of breeding. Any other very early bird breeding behavior is of
course also welcome. (e.g. crossbills?) The BBA surveys are 5 years 2009-
2013, so I believe a well documented record from last year at this time
would also be acceptable. (BSample or LPfanmuller may comment).

(I have been dealing with computer 'malfunction' for several days. It has
to do with getting one or two copies of every email in my inbox. I did
actually get new msgs in my inbox today finally. At one time I had 8102
unread msgs in my inbox. I am thinking of stone tablets as an alternative
form of communication. It might be faster.)
