I went owling tonight and got the northern saw-whet owl at Resevoir Woods in 
Roseville between 8 and 8:30.

I was out in the northern suburbs this morning and got 37 species.

Notables included:

    -  wood ducks at Gem Lake and Tamarack Nature Center

    - common and red-breasted mergansers displaying on Goose Lake, White Bear 
Lake

    - common and hooded mergansers displaying on Otter Lake

    - bluebirds at Tamarack Nature Center

    - two great horned owls at Tamarack Nature Center, one being harassed by 
crows and calling 3 times at 10am

    - two pairs of bald eagles doing their aerial display over Otter Lake.

    - red-bellied and pileated woodpeckers excavating dead trees at Coon Rapids 
Dam Park

    - no herons at Coon Rapids Dam Park yet
