Ron Erpelding and I heard a N. Saw-whet Owl calling this evening, 8:19 p.m., in Swift County about 2 miles east of Benson on 40th Ave. E., a little less than 1/2 mile north of US Hwy 12 right next to a homestead's large grove. We had been looking for a Ross's Goose in western Swift Co. with no luck. We didn't even see a single Snow Goose.
