General area report:

* 141 species since Saturday.

* 21 warblers in Sherburne & Mille Lacs Counties over the last week, but most days don't reach double digits. No waves to speak of. Eight this morning at Kunkel, including Black-throated Green. Highlights for week were Cerulean and Connecticut; strange is total absence (as in 0) of Magnolias.

* 13 sparrows residing or moving through, no White-throated, White-crowned or Harris' since Saturday.

* 13 shorebirds moving through, but exceedingly spotty since Saturday. Five on Sherburne's Auto Tour Tuesday, three at Princeton Sewage Ponds on Monday, none at Milaca Sewage yesterday (well, maybe a Killdeer).

* 7 flycatchers, first Alder this morning.

* First hummingbird last night (May 19th!).

* Only one sighting of Bobolinks this week, none to date in normal Mille Lacs areas.

Best area has been Sherburne NWR, but anticipate Kathio to be good soon, if not already (14 warblers nest there).

I'm approximately 20 species behind last year's pace, came into month eight higher than 2009.

Good birding to all!
