Hi all - I'm a graduate student at the University of Minnesota, working on a project about bird survey methodology for Doug Johnson. Specifically, I'm interested in how surveys estimate detection probability and how bird behavior, habitat, etc. might affect detection.
As part of this project, I'm observing as many surveys in progress as possible, including the BBS. I'm looking for any BBS surveyors who might allow me to tag along on some surveys this year (Bob Janssen kindly directed me to MOU net). Ideally, I'd like to go out near the twin cities area, but I can travel if need be. If you have a route that I could observe, please contact me. Thanks!
