I birded U-Mor Park Co. area in Rosemount yesterday. Interesting finds
included:

Upland Sandpiper sitting on the posts of the new parking area on 190th St. east
of Biscayne.
Ruffed Grouse (unusual in this area)
Sand Hill Crane (pair) in the field south of Station Trail due north of the
radio tower.
Bobolinks (8 to 10 males and several females) in the grass field SW of the
parking area off of Station Trail for Lone Rock Trail.
Grasshopper Sparrow in with the Bobolinks
Sedge Wrens (6+) in same field

misses:
Henslows Sparrows in the field with the Bobolinks
Dickcissels

I am interested if anyone saw any Henslows June 17th or later, or found any
Dickcissels, Orchard Orioles, Savanah Sparrows in U-Mor. I am also interested
in any other intersting sightings in U-Mor this summer. And reports of any
nesting birds (excluding swallows and Phoebes).

Red Admiral butterflies are having a peak year. They are everywhere in the
open the areas. We saw thousands along the roads. I would head down there,
especially if you have kids. Wet down, sit still, and they should land on you
also. Also seen Monarchs, Question Marks, Commas, Eastern Tailed Blue, a
Fritillary, Eyed Brown, Northern Crescent.

Both Red Raspberries and Black Raspberries are peaking. We feasted along the
trail. Blooming flowers included Cinqfoil, Lead Plant, Turk-hat Lillies (look
for these along the roads), Culvers Root, Puccoon (not Hoary or Carolina),
Bluebell, Mullein, milkweeds, Spiderwort.
