The Barred Owl was over here, Steve. We spotted one in our woods around 8am - it hung around 20 minutes or so until a few Blue Jays and Crows flew in. Then I saw it again at dusk, first in the same area, then it flew to a small bur oak next to the feeder area, about 20' from the house, stayed until it was too dark to see. Later, around 9pm, we looked out the darkened bedroom window and it was still there, while we also watched a deer disappearing into the woods. I hope it found a rabbit so it hangs around long enough to finally rid us of that danged red squirrel that has figured out how to get into the peanut feeder and empty it.
