I find that I made several big mistakes in the report submitted yesterday
mostly in the Lake of the Woods sightings.

First I don't have the species total for Roseau CBC.

32 species was the tally for the Baudette CBC. Baudette tallied several
SHARP-TAILED GROUSE, 4 NORTHERN HAWK OWLS, BLACK-BILLED MAGPIES, 50 BOHEMIAN
WAXWINGS, 30 WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS, and a number of EVENING GROSBEAKS in
addition to the other expected species. Unusual was a singing HORNED LARK!
He must know something we don't.

Also in Lake of the Woods County, the Beltrami Island CBC on January 3, the
species seen included a NORTHERN GOSHAWK, two NORTHERN HAWK OWLS, two
THREE-TOED WOODPECKERS, 4 BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKERS, a NORTHERN SHRIKE, 11
BOREAL CHICKADEES, GRAY JAYS, BLACK-BILLED MAGPIES, BROWN CREEPER, PINE
GROSBEAKS, RED CROSSBILLS, WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS, COMMON REDPOLLS, HOARY
REDPOLL, and PINE SISKIN. There was also a count week SPRUCE GROUSE, and a
count week SNOWY OWL found by Dan and Barbara Williams on the west side of
CR 3 between CR 35 and the junction of CR 1 and CR 3 on January 4.

I omitted Dave and Betty Hochhalter's report of a pair of NORTHERN CARDINALS
at their feeder in Detroit Lakes, and sightings of CEDAR WAXWINGS and PURPLE
FINCHES in Detroit Lakes, in Becker County.

Jeff Schultz reported that the EASTERN TOWHEE is still coming to the feeders
in Ottertail, Otter Tail County as of January 2.

Thanks to all who sent in their sightings this week.
