Hi all-

Some filmmakers for National Geographic Television are hoping to film
Great Gray Owls in Minnesota in the next few weeks. Their contact
information is below if anyone has sightings they want to share.

Speaking of Great Grays, Nate Popkin saw one yesterday (the 6th) in
the Sax-Zim Bog along the McDavitt Road (CR 233) about 3 miles north
of the Sax Road (CR 28).

Dear Jim,

I got your contact information from the MOU Duluth birding hotline
website. My husband and I are working on a film for National
Geographic Television and are hoping to film great grey owls in the
next few weeks for this project. We have filmed in the past near
Duluth (Sax Zim bog, etc.) when there are great grey invasions; your
website is a great resource to get updated information.

I'm wondering if you've had any new sightings of great greys since
the Dec. 30th report, and whether you'd be willing to contact us as
soon as new sightings come in? We are hoping to be able to do this
sequence within the next couple of weeks, and will have to decide
whether we need to go further north to accomplish this soon, if the
Duluth area doesn't have enough owls to justify a trip there.

Thanks in advance for any information you can send our way. Feel
free to forward this to any birders in the Duluth area as well.

Best regards,
Laura Johnson
