We've enjoyed a merry two weeks of migration in Eden Prairie. The cast of
characters began with a trickle of FOY Chippies, WT Sparrows, and some female
RB Grosbeaks. Then a flock of 50+ WT Sparrows landed on April 30 and a couple
dozen of them still remain today. Their morning chorus has been amazing, but a
bit quieter each day. Add in WC Sparrows, E Towhees, RB Grosbeak males, E.
Phoebe, Brown Thrasher, Lincoln Sparrows, Veery, RC Kinglet, and B. Orioles.
Today the cast expanded with an Ovenbird, Harris Sparrows, Catbird, 3 B.
Orioles competing for 1 female, and FOY RT Hummingbird. The only missing
summer character is a House Wren. Now if I could just get them all in the
frame of my 35mm at the same time, I'd have the shot of a lifetime.
