There were plenty of birders at the Community Gardens this morning to see the Rails reported earlier this week.
The Sora was refound and eventually quite cooperative, providing leisurely views in the open at close range. It also vocalized several times. The Virginia Rail was not heard or seen while I was there. (10-11am) Also present was a Solitary Sandpiper and plenty of Tree Swallows and Red-winged Blackbirds, among other year-round residents. Near Lake Josephine, I found a Blackpoll warbler and Northern Waterthrush, several White-throated & 1 Swamp Sparrow. -- Sincerely, Jim Ryan Saint Paul's Westside ---- One of the first conditions of happiness is that the link between Man and Nature shall not be broken. -* Leo Tolstoy* A well governed appetite is the greater part of liberty. - *Lucius Annaeus Seneca* ---- ---- Join or Leave mou-net: http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=mou-net Archives: http://lists.umn.edu/archives/mou-net.html
