My Husband recently had major spine surgery and then a week later, came down with an infection in a hip that he's never had problems with before. He spent a total of 13 days in the hospital and has been having a difficult recovery. So, to try and keep his mind off of his pain, I set up our 600mm lens in front of a Living Room window (with the screen removed and the glass up) so that he could photograph birds. Well, low and behold, he spotted a Scarlet Tanager in our blooming apple tree. Believe it or not, this is a Life Bird for us!! What a perfect spot to photograph him in, amongst the apple tree flowers!! We've had a ton of Orioles, two Rose-breasted Grosbeaks, a zillion Goldfinches, three Hummingbirds, and the list goes on and on. I am so glad we enjoy birds and photographing them as that combination is the perfect medicine for him right now!!!
