Out with a group of raptor biologists attending the national Raptor Research 
Foundation Annual Meeting in Duluth:

Great Group!

40 species total including five sparrow species and two warbler species

Highlights:

At least 3 BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKERS along McDavitt Road (about 3 miles N of Sax 
Rd.

eye-level, scope-filling looks at a foraging male

BOREAL CHICKADEE along Owl Avenue (CR202)...south of Overton Ave.

uncooperative, flew over but did not hang around.

MERLIN harassing PINE SISKINS 

along Nichols Lk Rd.

3 BLACK-BILLED MAGPIES with eagles and ravens at carcass 

east side of CR 229 in open willow flats, south of T-intersection with Townline 
Rd.

3 RUFFED GROUSE

scattered locations but also at "regular" location at first bend on Owl Avenue 
going N.
