Do it in May before the fishing opener and during migration. Maybe
upstage all that big fishing stuff. No need for a license. More people
bird watch than fish. It's usually free. No need for a boat. Etc. ....

Subject: [mnbird] Why not a Governor's Birding Opener?

Why should muskie, deer and pheasants get all the attention? it could
be scheduled for early June (after the Fishing Opener).

.....From STrib 8/11/11: Governor's Pheasant Opener scheduled for Oct.
14-15 in Montevideo
