Considering purchasing my first scope and would appreciate suggestions/advice.
I've started researching and am feeling overwhelmed by the prospect of narrowing down my options. I do want angled. Since I'm using for general birding, I don't think I need magnification beyond 60 to 80 (or am I wrong?). I will not be digiscoping. Lightweight would be nice. Less than $1000 would be great (less than $200 would be fantastic, but I'm realistic that this won't happen!) Finally, does anyone have any experience with the lightweight travel scope (a la, Nikon 50mm ED)? Any suggestions?
