Hi everyone,
Well, both Cannon and Wells Lakes are just about completely ice-free making
the waterfowl much tougher to see. The ducks, what are still around, are really
spread out. That being said, I am still getting the occasional Goldeneye and am
still seeing a lot of Common Mergansers which tells me migration is still in
full swing.
I want to thank all the folks who spoke to me or dropped me an email
expressing their thanks for these updates! I know February can be a very slow
and tedious month so if you're like me, you're looking forward to any new
migrants and it's my sincere pleasure to be able to share these sightings with
everyone every spring! I very much appreciate all of the kind words!
So, barring a rarity, this will be my final report for this season regarding
migrating waterfowl at Wells Lake. See you next spring!

P.S. There was a Red-breasted Merganser on Cannon Lake this afternoon! :)
