A Neotropic Cormorant was observed on Current Lake, in Murray county Friday
afternoon. The bird was observed from Swensen county park, on the East side
of Current Lake. It was observed from 3:00 pm to 3:15 pm and was still present
when our group left the area. The bird was observed standing on a small
peninsula, to the SW of the boat ramp in Swensen county park. It was first
observed with a group of 6 Double-crested Cormorants and later by itself and
with a number of Ring-billed Gulls. Swenson county park, is located 12 miles
North of the town of Lake Wilson, along Highway 91 in Murray county. The park
is located on the West side of Highway 91 and when you enter the park, the boat
ramp will be to your left. The rocky area that the Neotropic Cormorant was
observed on, is just SW of the park in Current Lake. Craig MandelMinnetonka,
Hennepin County
