Cory lake located in Lac Que Parle Co. is in artificial drawdown and is now
mostly mud flats. I just got information from an employee of the MN DNR that
there are "lots of shorebirds of lots of species" out there right now. Cory
lake is southwest of Madison. The best access is from the east side of the
lake.
Haydenville WMA (4 miles west of Madison) is also in drawdown and may have
shorebirds as well? The DNR is pumping water from Cory so it should be good
shorebird habitat for a considerable length of time, depending on weather, etc.
