The Black-necked Stilt was relocated on Lily Lake in Blue Hey birders, The Black-necked Stilt was relocated on Lily Lake in Blue Earth County on Sunday afternoon. The bird was in the western-most bay at the north end in an area that cannot be viewed from CR20 or Dogwood Road where the bird was initially spotted. It was viewed from the terminus of Scott Street from a parking lot of a business. Exit from Hwy 60 on CR6, go north to Commerce St. and turn right, turn right on Scott St.
Also in this location on Sunday was a Plegadis ibis which was working the shoreline in the same bay. The distant views were not conducive to identifying the bird to species and the bird did not have any apparent white border to the face. In the evening, both birds were moving around quite a bit due to Bald Eagles that were working the ducks, grebes, and coots. The stilt was still present, but Herb Dingman, Ron Erpelding, and I could not relocate the ibis. Happy birding!
