Hi all,

I am down in Murray & Pipestone counties working on the Breeding Bird
Atlas. Some of the good birds include:
Upland Sandpipers - I have seen or heard three sandpipers until tonight.
At approx. 8:30 we found four sandpipers on the wires or on the poles along
the CR6 between one and three miles eas of Avoca. We may have even had a
fifth bird circle overhead.
Marbled Godwit - one found, but has not been relocated since.
Least Bittern - three heard.
Blue Grosbeak - two found
Turkey Vultures - I have found a probable and confirmed breeding TV's in
abandoned farmsteds.
Red-winged Blackbirds are everywhere, even in dry areas that would be
filled by Brewer's Blackbirds, which are not out here.
sedge Wrens and Dickcissels are super abundantt.

Western Meadowlarks are hard to find and even the locals who do no bird are
noticing.

Sorry, I am in the field and will not be answering requests for the
locations of these birds
