For those of you wondering about the Yancy Ave area southwest of New
Germany(since I haven't mentioned it), it has not been until this past week
that water has dropped enough to provide good habitat. Beginning this past
Tuesday, mainly pelicans had begun staging in this area. Yesterday and today
there were even higher numbers of pelicans, egrets, and herons staging in the
area. Today was the first day since early April that a decent amount of mud
was showing. Most of this mud was too distant to view.
