While birding with Joel Schmidt earlier today (7/26), we located an apparent family group of 3 blue grosbeaks: an adult male, a subadult male, and a female. The birds were located at the intersection of 310th St. and 830th Ave, about 2 miles west of Olivia and 1/4 mi N of Hwy 212. The birds were on the NW and NE sides of this intersection. They were seen both at the brush disposal site and on the fence of the XCEL Energy substation.
