I was able to find at least 10 of the Buff-breasted Sandpipers around 6pm tonight along with several other species of shorebirds. A very strong northwest wind made the viewing quite difficult. The Buff-breasted Sandpipers were on the northern end of the berm between the two ponds. There was a small "island" and a nice mudflat at the north end of the east (closer) pond that provided good viewing of the other species. I also found 2 additional Buff-breasted Sandpipers in the NE part of the county - 1.1 miles east of Hwy 23 on CR8 (171st St) just east of Holland. They were with several Killdeer in a recently mowed & windrowed field on the south side of the road.
