Between sunrise and 10:30 a.m. today, I've observed 34 species from my office window, either in the yard, or flying by. Highlights have been Red-breasted Nuthatch, Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Common Yellowthroat, Orange-crowned, Yellow and Yellow-rumped Warblers, White-throated and White-crowned Sparrows, Dark-eyed Junco and Purple Finch. The sparrows are new fall migrants to the yard and feeding area this morning, and the purple finch is an infrequent visitor. I love my job... Betsy Beneke Sherburne NWR
