We have heard them in recent years along the St. Croix River just north of the MN TH 48 bridge (west of Danbury WI), although not this year. Seven or eight years ago we were surprised to hear one calling briefly at our cabin in Ogema Township, Pine County. Our neighbors to the north report that years ago they were abundant, and calling so noisily that they were a nuisance. Karlyn Eckman
