Today at about 11:30 am, I saw a small flock of Snow Buntings flying back and
forth over the grass field near the north cul-de-sac pond in Western Industrial
Park, located on 284th St. It's on the west side of highway 56, about a half
mile north of Hwy 88 and the town of Randolph. I also had a close look at two
Trumpeter Swans on Lake Byllesby late yesterday.

Otherwise, the lake and industrial park have been mostly empty when I've been
there, except for a few gulls, many crows, Tree Sparrows and SC Juncos at the
Lakeside Cemetery, plus the regulars.

I have seen a good number of Red-tailed Hawks and American Kestrels along Hwy
88, 180th Marsh,140th St. Marsh, Hwy 85, Pine Bend Trail and Fahey Avenue, near
Spring Lake Park. At 140th Marsh, I recently was surprised to see two late
American White Pelicans fly over, fairly low, aiming northeast for the
Mississippi River.
