A new yard bird.
It was only a matter of time...
A female Cardinal appeared at the feeders on Friday. I have not seen
it today, but I expect that she will find the abundant food supply
and ample cover to her liking. Three hardy Juncos and two A. Tree
Sparrows continue to spend most of their day foraging under the
feeders close to brush piles. A Brown Creeper is beginning to make
visits to the newly hung deer carcasses. I heard and saw Brown
Creeper at three of my five deer stand locations this season. As
others have suggested it appears to be a stellar year for Pine
Grosbeak. I have been hearing them off in the woods with regularity
since August. One early pair at the feeders has grown to a small
flock of eleven. Have my fingers crossed for Evening Grosbeak to show
up this winter. OMG!! My cat Kitter is doing the chirpy-bird talk
looking out the window...Evening Grosbeak is here!!!!
