Hello:

Out guiding a family from San Diego, CA in search of winter specialties and my
last guiding session for 2012.

Highlights in Sax-Zim Bog

- Great Gray Owl along Highway 5 just north of CR 27 (Zim Rd) at dawn.  As far
as I heard the Great Gray Owl along McDavitt Rd did not make a showing this
morning for those who searched for it.  Also beware that Highway 5 has plenty
of traffic on it and there are no shoulders at all to park to view owls.
- Northern Hawk Owl is being seen most every day along the Kolu Rd in Sax-Zim
Bog.  This east-west road connects Admiral Rd and McDavitt Rd about 1/2 mile
north of CR 28 (Sax Rd)

- Boreal Chickadee (2) at the Admiral Rd feeders

- Evening Grosbeaks at the Blue Spruce Rd feeders
- Hoary Redpoll at the Blue Spruce Rd feeders

Superior, WI Bong Airport
- Snowy Owl

Interesting reports:
-Sharp-shinned Hawk was spotted at the Admiral Rd feeders, A Northern Goshawk
was reported at the Kelsey-White Face Rd feeders along with more Evening
Grosbeaks and Pine Grosbeaks plus redpolls and probably the best spot to locate
magpies.

Good birding
