Hello Birders
Between this morning and this afternoon I spent four hours at the dam. This
morning I saw four or five northern shovelers upstream from the walkway and a
belted kingfisher flew by me twenty feet away as well as several hooded
mergansers . There have been many goldeneye along the river above and below
the walkway. I have not seen a Barrows but one was reported last week. I also
saw many ring necked ducks today and there were at least five Great Blue Heron
sitting in the rookery and a red tailed hawk in a nest there. I saw common
mergansers mostly downstream and Trumpeter swans up stream and downs
stream. This afternoon I was looking to see if the Osprey was back at the
platform but there has been no sign of any yet . I talked to a few birder
friends and they haven't seen any either yet but any day. Also this afternoon
I saw many many waterfowl upstream including what I reported earlier and at
least two Redheads and three or four Canvasbacks and some fellow birders saw
Pine Siskins this morning
they said. That's all for now.
