When I was driving home from work at 6:00 pm tonight, I had a brief glimpse of a "strange" looking bird in flight. This was on Normandale Blvd, right as the creek leaves Normandale Lake. It was large, dark bird that flew directly in front of my car at a low altitude. At first I thought it was a Great Blue Heron, but I didn't think the neck looked right. I also noticed that the wing beats were really rapid. I don't remember ever having a good look at the bill. I am not at all familiar with ibises, but that was the general impression that I got. I thought I should post here in case any locals want to check it out. It looked like it was going to land in the marshy area across the road to the East from the lake.
