I led a trip to Sax-Zim Bog yesterday, and although I was surprised with the relatively low numbers of birds found throughout the bog, a great deal of diversity was definitely present!
Highlights from yesterday's visit to the bog included 4 Yellow-bellied Flycatchers, one Boreal Chickadee, one Gray Jay, 16 species of Warblers, and three Le Conte's Sparrows. Towards the beginning of the morning, we got looks at a Sharp-tailed Grouse in a tree, perched just like an Upland Sandpiper with its legs and neck stretched out... goofy bird! We had 76 species observed for the day. eBird list from yesterday's visit to the bog, below http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S14330606 Good birding, Erik Bruhnke Duluth, MN -- *NATURALLY AVIAN* - Birding Tours and Bird Photography [email protected] (e-mail) www.naturallyavian.com (birding tours) www.pbase.com/birdfedr (photos) www.facebook.com/NaturallyAvian (facebook) ---- Join or Leave mou-net: http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=mou-net Archives: http://lists.umn.edu/archives/mou-net.html
